The Opportunity


The Rosedale Hospitality Group is an energetic company, and we are looking for a passionate individual to join our team.

The Full-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for handling day-to-day bookkeeping for our company's two main venues, The Doctor's House and XXI Chophouse.

You will work closely with and report to the Owner.

You will be directly responsible for the recording of all financial transactions, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for all companies within the Company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, etc.
  • Process vendor invoices for payments
  • Allocate and post financial transaction details
  • Review bank activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process payroll and employee benefits
  • Maintain financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
  • Organize and analyze account data and general financial reports
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable
  • Prepare monthend Financials
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST, WSIB, EHT, PD7A)
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Assist in audit and yearend preparation for corporate tax return
  • Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
  • Complete Statistics Canada Surveys
  • Complete monthly Commission reports
  • Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:


  • 2 yearsexperience in Accounting and/or Bookkeeping
  • Successful completion of a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Bookkeeping certification an asset
  • Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
  • Working knowledge of accounting software Quickbooks online
  • Excellent working knowledge in Excel (Pivot/VLookup)
  • Excellent understanding of general accounting principles and procedure
  • Selfstarter, professional, selfconfident and organized
  • Attention to detail and able to multitask
  • Team player and able to work independently
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
