About the Position:


The Associate, Securities Operations will be responsible for supporting the back-office duties for all Hazelview's public securities portfolios which includes but is not limited to daily trade processing and bookkeeping, post-trade activities such as trade matching and settlements, along with working with traders, brokers, and custodians to identify and resolve any discrepancies and settlement problems.

This role will also share some reporting responsibilities to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform critical daily trade processing and fund accounting tasks such as transaction bookings and reconciliations in a timely manner to contribute to the accuracy and readiness of the investment book of record
  • Perform posttrade activities including but not limited to trade matching, confirmation, trade reporting and global equity settlements
  • Assist trading with various projects
  • Work with traders, brokers, and custodians to identify, investigate and resolve portfolio discrepancies and settlement problems
  • Assist with corporate action processing, proxy voting
  • Monitor the marktomarket of financial derivatives and the level of collateral posted
  • Learn compliance framework and implement / adhere to control procedures
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and simplify operational workflows
  • Support internal (sales, marketing, compliance) and external (client, fund admin) stakeholders with periodic and adhoc reporting needs
  • Participate in new account onboarding and other relevant projects
  • Support adhoc data requests from immediate team members as well as other areas within securities operations.

Education and Experience:


  • Postsecondary degree or certification in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experiences
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting or equivalent education
  • 05 years of experience in the financial industry is strongly preferred, including experiences in fund administration, custodian, or investment management operation capacities. Buyside experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a must, including a broad range of advanced formulas and builtin functions
  • Previous experience with enterprise fund accounting and portfolio management software is preferred. Experience with Advent Geneva a plus but not required
  • This role will require occasional afterhours support for global trading operations

  • Someone with superior timemanagement skills with a proven ability to identify and prioritize critical deliverables in the fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and be proactive on tasks assigned without having to rely on extensive oversight and approval

Experience:
Preferred

  • Less than 5 year(s): Experience in the financial industry is strongly preferred, including experiences in fund administration, custodian, or investment management operation capacities
