Position Summary and Responsibilities:


  • Determine requirements for given commodity and administer the request for purchase authorization and the purchase order.
  • Keep all required system submissions current and accurate.
  • Analyze inventory buffer requirements on a regular basis ensuring buffers sizes stay in line with current business levels using the appropriate software. Investigate and make recommendations to changes in inventory levels based on product knowledge and business input from sales.
  • Track supplier performance, as required.
  • Determine and track all appropriate metrics.
  • Explain the reasons for purchase price variances.
  • Review quarterly obsolescence reports and make recommendations.
  • Review and resolve any invoice discrepancies between our company and our vendors.
  • Execute Engineering change orders by implementing the required actions with the applicable vendor.
  • Highlight when a product needs first article inspection and keep all applicable flags current and accurate.
  • Ensure consistent liaison and communications with all relevant parties and departments.
  • Conduct must be professional and ethical when dealing with suppliers.
  • Expedite, if required, specific purchase orders to ensure on time delivery of parts and maintain the system with current expedited delivery dates.

Qualifications:


  • Extensive vendor management experience is required.
  • 2 Year College Diploma in Materials Management or PMAC principles, or equivalent experience
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 procedures
  • Experience in implementing LEAN and/or TOC manufacturing programs is a definite asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
