We create courses and programs for life-long learning with career at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Products in
Continuing Education and Professional Studies, the Product Strategist will be responsible for managing a suite of current and new products based on consumer demand. This entails managing all aspects of product development, updates and delivery, and working with the manager of Learning Experience and Design (LEAD) when applicable. The Product Strategist role requires cross-departmental coordination with talent, delivery, advising, marketing, corporate training as well as liaising with various academic schools within SAIT. The Product Strategist plays a key role in the success of learners by ensuring timely development and revision of current and new products, resource management, scheduling and recommendations for growth based on market demand, and overall management of a portfolio with the approximate value of $2.5 million.
The Role:

Research and Analysis:
- Work with Business Intelligence & Analytics and Marketing to analyze market conditions related to CE offerings
- Identify key competitor and consumer trends
- Articulate key market requirements and opportunities
- Identify opportunities for course and program (product) innovation and product enhancements
- Work with industry to identify new opportunities for courses and programs (product) and determine their viability through opportunity assessments
- Determine product specifications and delivery options and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts and Curriculum Development Specialists for product development
- Schedule product offerings as appropriate
- Liaise with the Marketing department
- Control and track product revenue and expenses for portfolio
- Maintain accountability for product schedules
- Liaise with the Talent Team, Delivery Team, and Advising Team as needed
- Promote initiatives that enhance learner success and retention in the programs, such as active learning, technologyenabled learning, online or blended delivery, etc.
- **Product Marketing**:
- Liaise with Marketing to develop and implement product marketing plans and campaigns to generate product awareness and demand
- Work with Marketing to plan product launches
- Support the Talent Team, Delivery Team, Advising Team, and Corporate Sales Team with the necessary product knowledge
- Provide input for marketing collateral development
- Maintain uptodate enrolment and revenue reports
- Drive ongoing improvement in sales and profitability
- Manage product
- related support, feedback and inquiries from current and prospective students
- Coordinate market research to track customer/student and enduser feedback in portfolio
- Monitor course and program (product) inventory to maintain currency of offerings in portfolio
- Use market feedback to inform product refinements and ongoing development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Previous product coordination or related experience in continuing education
- Knowledge of marketing principles and practices
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
- Project management skills an asset
