Position Description:
SUMMARY
This position provides leadership to the front line staff regarding the activities of patient food services including: meal service, ware washing, nourishment preparation and distribution, inventory management and food distribution between sites.
Responsible for supervising the day to day operations to ensure timely, microbiologically safe, accurate and cost effective provision of meal service to the patients and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Community College Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Eligibility for membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) and the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management. (OSNM)
- Must be able to be self directed and self motivated
- Must have the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within given time restraints
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with food safety and sanitation
- Must have conflict resolution skills
- Must be proficient with MS Office
- Must have understanding of WHMIS
- Experience in a unionized setting is an asset
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some responsibilities include:
- Oversee the department staffing
- Perform quality management responsibilities
- Manage unit/department financial resources
- Perform corporate management responsibilities that support and advance SJHH's goals
- Develop, implement and maintain departmental procedures
- Ensure ingredient database is current for dietary compliancy
- Other duties as assigned
