Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.

Please note this is a 1 year contract.

The opportunity:

CBC Toronto 's flagship live weekday morning show, Metro Morning, is searching for its next host.

Having served audiences for 50 years, the show is woven into the ever growing fabric of the GTA.

And so are you.

You are deeply invested in the GTA and are committed to ensuring Metro Morning is the forum for the conversations essential to life in the city.

Be that safety on the TTC, how diaspora communities are reacting to political upheaval at home, or a budget shortfall, you know Metro Morning plays a vital role in our city.

Your role is clear:
you hold those in power to account. You examine all situations from a variety of viewpoints, and listen deeply.

You know that people's need for information is at its greatest when they first wake and you're there to help people plan for the hours, the days and the weeks ahead.

Toronto's been called a city of villages.

You are a smart and seasoned journalist with a competitive spirit. You love the GTA and you are deeply curious about it and the people who call it home. You connect easily with every guest on the program — be they a grieving parent or the Mayor.

You thrive in a team environment, and love to experiment with new ways to meet program and station goals. You know that audience consumption trends change, and work to ensure that Metro Morning keeps up with those changes.

As host, you embrace your role as a leader on the team and an advocate for your audiences.

You are constantly pushing yourself and the team to deliver the most compelling live local morning daily news and current affairs morning programming in the GTA.
