- Reports to the Installation Manager, who will delegate tasks in order of priority to the Field Technician, who will then complete them as efficiently as possible
- Install and service irrigation systems, typically traveling to the jobsite to complete
- Install and service pumps, motors, reels, and other irrigation equipment
- Troubleshoot problems systematically and find quality solutions
- Organize, clean and maintain equipment, tools and safety gear
- Record details of work completed with accurate and thorough details
- Detail-oriented with high standards for quality work and intelligent solutions
- Strives to provide a high level of customer satisfaction
- Presentable, reliable and a team player with a positive attitude

- Low voltage electrical (24VAC and 24VDC) knowledge
- High voltage electrical (motor voltage, phases, amperage, etc.)
- Familiar with:
- Variable frequency drives – calibration/troubleshooting
- Pumps – installation/priming/troubleshooting
- Plumbing – cutting/gluing/assembling manifolds
- Controls (become familiar with all types of irrigation controllers (Rainbird/Hunter/HIT/TWIG/Ranch/Fieldnet/Ocmis)
- Principles of Irrigation – basic understanding of irrigation systems or willing to train on irrigation systems
- Certified Irrigation Technician – Level One (IABC)
- Certified Irrigation Technician – Level Two (IABC)
- Certified Irrigation Scheduler (CIS) (IABC)
- Certified Irrigation Technician - Agriculture (IABC)
- Electrical Troubleshooting (IABC)
- Pump Course (IABC)
- Electronics Certificate (UFV)
