Job Overview

_ This is a temporary position from April 17, 2023, to November 1, 2023_, reporting to the Yachting Director, this person will deliver the highest quality of Member service while ensuring that the waterfront property and equipment are clean, functional and safe for the benefit of Members and Staff.


Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily opening and closing duties, and general maintenance of the Club's facilities, boats and docks.
  • Manage shift schedule and maintenance schedule tasks for the Dock Staff
  • Monitor the V.H.F. radio and assist Members and visitors on and off the docks.
  • Assist Yachting Director with some administrative tasks.
  • Conduct a seasonal inspection of the dock system to ensure that boats are adequately moored.
  • Keep the area around the docks, dry storage, and boathouse clean and orderly.
  • Communicate the Club reciprocal policies to other Clubs and Marina facilities.
  • Manage the overnight harbour log and visitor boat booking system. Maintain a database for applicable fees for visiting yachts.
  • Manage and track all Member storage and Boathouse Locker use.
  • Assist Members in operation of pumpout amenities.
  • Assist Members in launching and hauling out of sailboats, tenders and personal watercraft.
  • Ensure all Member, guest and camp participant incidents, problems or concerns are reported promptly to the Dockmaster and Yachting Director, including health and safety concerns, suggestions or hazards.
  • Act in a helpful and courteous manner towards all Members and guests
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and weekly project meeting with the Yachting Director
  • Complete all reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the Yachting Director in a timely manner.
  • Follows all on and off water safety procedures and regulations of Ports Toronto, the Coast Guard, the Boulevard Club and Yachting Section rules.

Job Qualifications

  • Be available from April 17 to November 1, 2023, and must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Be able to work effectively independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Be able to perform basic boat, dock and equipment maintenance.
  • Be confident in their leadership, communication, and administrative abilities.
  • Be able to liaise effectively with the Boulevard Club Yachting Director and Facilities Manager to support Members and Staff
  • Be enthusiastic, professional and demonstrate a true passion for waterfront activities and a marine environment.
  • Be in possession of a valid P.C.O.C. boating license, the Ports Toronto Powered Vessel Operators Permit and a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (VHF Radio Permit)
  • The Boulevard Club will be able to assist you in the attainment of these qualifications prior to the start of the season._
