The Contract Analyst reports to the Director, Spend Governance for Canadian Division Technology (CDT) and is responsible for providing analytical information to support the team, vendor contracts, performance and for ensuring that Manulife extracts value from its suppliers.


In addition, the person will work directly with the CDT Contract Managers to assist with educating business units on the contract requirements for new contracts or contract renewals and moving them through the process, from intake to signature and ensuring they are filed in the contract repository.


The Contract Analyst is also responsible for driving low cost/low risk procurement events, under direction from Strategic Procurement and in compliance with approved policies and processes.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform contracting activities, such as Non-Disclosure Agreements and simple contract amendments and extensions that may require Procurement and Legal review (e.g. date, lowdollar, address changes) with support from the Contract Managers as needed.
  • Triage CDT contract requests and ensure all required parties are involved (Risk, Legal, Procurement and the BU). Once a sourcing request has been received initiate the procurement activity by submitting an intake request.
  • Ensure completed contracts are uploaded and maintained in the contracts database. Ensure all contract/vendor artifacts are maintained current.
  • Handle and maintain strong relationships with each Business Unit and align contract and reporting strategy across CDT, while supporting the Manulife Procurement Process.
  • Lead monthly meetings with BU leaders to review contract renewals, spend, critical metrics, upcoming submissions and highlight possible risks and opportunities while taking initiative to process/raise issues impacting software commitments.
  • Participate in the continual improvement of the contract lifecycle management process to ensure process efficiencies are identified and implemented.
  • Educate the Business Units on the Procurement policy to ensure that policies are being followed by collaborators across CDT i.e. verifying NDAs are in place prior to disclosing any information.

Qualifications:


  • Business or accounting university/college degree
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Flexibility to work as a team member and independently
  • Attention to accuracy and detail is essential
  • Ability to prioritize and work optimally in a goaloriented environment
  • Ability to exercise judgment and flexibility
  • Ability to identify and make recommendations to streamline existing processes
  • Support the development & implementation of new processes
  • Responds to challenges and opportunities in a positive and productive manner
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
