Scale house Operator/Administrative Assistant

What will the role entail?


The Scale House Operator/Administrative Assistant is responsible for tracking deliveries to the landfill, completes data entry and provides administrative support working closely with the operations team.


What are the primary duties and responsibilities?

  • Prepare daily sign in/out records for all landfill deliveries
  • Enter daily scale tickets, driver service logs and shift reports
  • Enter data into Trimble system for landfill operations and other related duties as assigned
  • Utilize MS Excel to create and maintain various spreadsheets and reports
  • Transfer and provide documents to appropriate personnel
  • Record, track and verify waste disposal permits to ensure accuracy and proper use

What does Acden need from me?

  • Class Five (5) Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract is required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a waste management related field is considered an asset
  • Two (2) or more years' experience in an Administrative or Data Entry position is considered an asset
  • High degree of accuracy with strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
  • Positive attitude, reliable and team orientated with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously within a diverse workforce
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Must have access to all Acden client sites as required by the position
  • Valid OSSA Regional and CSTS09, OSSA BSO or CSO Certificate
  • SWANA Landfill Operation Basics (LOB) Certification is an asset
  • Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and effective organization skills
