Your Job

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity available in Mississauga and will require some travel to other Intact Offices.


As the Claims Manager, Support, Legal Claims you will be one of the key members of the Ontario Legal Claims management team responsible for leading a team of Unit Managers, Support.


What you'll do here:


  • Serve as first level support for any issues that require escalation. Motivate a team; continuously keep them informed of directions and developments; take lead on performance assessments and assist with coaching and training.
  • Monitor work activity and identify and help remedy issues; continually assess and improve workflows to ensure efficiency; present findings and track processes and results by way of concise reports. This includes responding to and partnering with internal contacts regarding issues affecting them and ensuring smooth relationships between the group and other stakeholders.
  • Use your experience, expertise and passion to inspire your team to exceed standards.
  • Create an engaging, supportive and positive environment along the way.
  • Work collaboratively with the claims leaders to ensure quality claims management.
  • Have experience in legal claims and can help us transform the customer experience.
  • Be at ease with digital tools and processes.
  • Use data and analysis to help to assess risk.
  • Work on other projects and initiatives as required. Be proactive and demonstrate leadership. Share information proactively and appropriately with team.
  • Be a great communicator; whether it's a phone call or a presentation, you can do it all and adapt your approach to your audience.

  • A university degree, college diploma or equivalent education combined with relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of operational experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Experience leading and managing a team is required.
