We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wholesale Power Marketing Section Head, who, under the general direction of the
Manager, Energy Market Strategies & Wholesale Power Marketing, will lead a senior professional team responsible for identifying
and pursuing wholesale power sale opportunities with existing and new customers in the US and Canada and negotiating wholesale
power contracts. Provide leadership and oversight of Canadian and US regulatory and governmental affairs as it relates to
Manitoba's wholesale power business to ensure unfettered market access.


_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Oversee the development and implementation of a Wholesale Power Marketing Strategy in collaboration with Wholesale
Power Trading.

  • Provide leadership and expertise in identifying and securing new mid to longterm wholesale power opportunities with existing
and new customers including the development of sales evaluations and customer proposals.

  • Collaborate with the Wholesale Power Trading Department on opportunities in the shortterm time frame.
  • Lead detailed supply and pricing analyses of proposed opportunities and contracts under various scenarios and sensitivities
- and oversee appropriate strategic risk assessments.
  • Develop detailed contract terms and conditions favourable to Manitoba Hydro and work closely with legal in drafting necessary

- agreements.
  • Lead and actively support various teams responsible for negotiating longterm wholesale power agreements.
  • Collaborate with Wholesale Power Trading ensuring necessary transmission reservations are in place to support wholesale

- power transactions.
  • Collaborate with Energy Supply Planning in responding to RFP's and developing proposals to maximize overall revenues and
- minimize wholesale power costs for Manitoba Hydro.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing wholesale power customers including investorowned utilities, cooperatives,
- municipals, power marketers and crown utilities.
  • Design and tailor power products to meet existing customer requirements considering the availability of supply in the overall
export portfolio. Identify long-term wholesale purchase opportunities to cost-effectively add capacity and energy to Manitoba's
overall supply.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategies for maintaining and enhancing Manitoba Hydro's access to its
export markets. Participate in the resolution of US and Canadian regulatory issues and developments which impact Manitoba
Hydro's wholesale power marketing business.

  • Oversee the administration of contracts originating in the Energy Market Strategies & Wholesale Power Marketing Department
and the Wholesale Power Trading Department.

  • Represent Manitoba Hydro as the company representative and expert at wholesale power industry working groups and
forums dealing with wholesale marketing and associated policy and regulatory issues. Actively promote Manitoba Hydro's
clean and renewable waterpower within the US and Canada.

_ Qualifications:
_


  • Completion of a fouryear bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or other relevant discipline from an institute of
recognized standing with a minimum of eight years of directly related experience, of which includes three years in a
supervisory/leadership capacity.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with wholesale power customers with demonstrated skill sets to strategically and financially evaluate new
opportunities, negotiate and administer wholesale power contracts, and lead junior team members within a large, complex
organization.
