Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager, HIM& Telecommunications, the Project Manager is responsible for analysing the business and operational needs as well as planning and execution of both operations and IT tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing policies and procedures to support the operations with the newly implemented system.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications engineering or related field required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- CTA, CIPTS, ITIL Certification preferred
- Experience with VOIP technology
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and protocols
- Minimum of 3 years of formal Project Management experience, with a leadership role in the implementation of technical projects
- Understanding of Project Management framework
- Experience with Voice and data communications network builds, Voice Over IP (VOIP) and Unified Communications technologies and delivering UC Services to corporate users
- Knowledge and understanding of cloud based communications software, Network infrastructure devices like Routers, Switches, PRI's, and Firewalls etc.
- Knowledge of telephone systems, Nortel CS1000, Avaya communications, IX messaging
- Knowledge of Vocera system, Nursecall, Connexall systems and mobile devices is an asset
- Demonstrated successful project management of a medium to large IT system preferred.
- Experience with and knowledge of Hospital Information Systems including design and configuration is required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to make important decisions under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities
- Demonstrated skills in facilitation, teamwork and leadership.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products & project planning software required.
- Ability to facilitate the achievement ofmilestones/deadlines.
- Experience with preparation, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of project costs.
- Autonomous, independent worker.
- Ability to exert influence and work successfully in matrix reporting relationships.
- Ability to be flexible in hours worked including some work after hours and on weekends.
- Good work and attendance record required.
