PRIMARY FOCUS

  • The communications specialist is a key member of the Marketing & Communications division in LutherCare Communities (LCC), partnering with other divisions to achieve organizational priorities and goals. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications (the Director), the communications specialist supports strategy by executing divisional plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction. The communications specialist demonstrates divisional expertise to enable an innovative and positive working climate in a residentfirst culture. The communications specialist works within the division and crossfunctionally to support operations in the organization. The Communications specialist works closely with media sources and other external partners.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Alignment - Contribute to initiatives, strategies, and methods to support and achieve the division's operational plans that align to the strategic plan and LCC's priorities and directives effectively and efficiently.

Stakeholder Relationship Management - Building, fostering, and maintaining effective relationships internally, and externally. Foster communication and healthy relationships with residents, visitors, and families.

Position Functions:


  • Support the Director to strategically positions ideas to resolve complex problems, to influence audiences, institute culture shifts, and design approaches to various communications strategies.
  • Champion LCC's visual identity guidelines and brand
  • Support the Director to develop brand and visual identity and ensure compliance.
  • Support the Director to develop and operationalize the content strategies and editorial processes for the LCC's major digital and hard copy media channels.
  • Collect and analyze data to gauge success and improve Marketing & Communications strategies.
  • Review quality monitoring metrics for the use in efficiency and effectiveness of process improvement

Reporting - Prepare reports to the Director using qualitative and quantitative data. Prepare and deliver reports to ELT, OLT, and management teams in support of a cross-functional team.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION & ORGANIZATION

Education:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field
  • Professional designation (or near completion)
  • Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable

Experience:

  • 3+ years working in Communications or media development.
  • Experience in a multistakeholder environment with multiple locations
  • Experience working with Federal and Provincial Governments
  • Experience working with First Nation and Metis communities.
  • Experience in a hybrid organization (forprofit and notforprofit) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in a healthcare sector would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in a housing sector would be considered an asset.
