SUMMARY
The Master Scheduler plays an essential role in reassuring and promoting Vexos' operational excellence.

The incumbent has a strong awareness and solid understanding of Vexos' operations personnel's makeup, as well as the manufacturing structure and production processes in delivering and meeting targeted outputs for the high-mix, complex requirements pertaining to different and unique customer requests.

A typical day workday of the Master Scheduler includes, but is not limited to planning production runs, preparing schedules and inventory plans, developing operational metrics, generating and maintaining high-level reports, and producing relevant outputs and helpful, timely insights for the Director of Operations and other stakeholders and/or senior leaders across functional areas to effectively and strategically lead Manufacturing groups to meet targeted sales and service objectives.

This collaborative role requires the incumbent to work closely with the production management team, along with program management and procurement teams.

The Master Scheduler reports directly to the Senior Production Manager, with a dotted report indirectly to the Director of Operations, Afternoon Production Manager or appropriate senior production leader designate including the Site SVP and General Manager.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and prioritize operations and update schedules as demands change to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in meeting demands from both internal and external customers
  • Schedule/create jobs, own job releasees and aged jobs closure
  • Responsible for the preparation and monitoring of revenue planning reports
  • Collaborate and communicate with various departments to develop weekly production schedules
  • Conduct parameter check on all parts in MRP/Syspro for Monthly Lead Time and Production Lead Time Review
  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products/customers
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demands
  • Work in conjunction with production management team to assign workers and other staff to particular production operations
  • Schedule shifts according to production needs
  • Monitor and review production plan often to ensure we meet On-Time delivery requirements for our customers/product builds
  • Create and manage work orders through ERP system, update schedule and effectively manage available time and resources; responsible for the proper configuration, planning and documentation of products and processes manufactured at Vexos
  • Work and communicate with various departments to develop weekly production schedules
  • Update schedule as demands change and ensures that production is prioritized to meet external and internal customer demands
  • Communicate lead time and potential production issues to customer service and configuration departments as well as internal customers in a timely manner
  • Work with Supervisors to review and maintain inventory as well as analyze resource needs
  • Ensure the Production Manager, the Program Management, Procurement teams, and appropriate designates are always informed of any resources bottlenecks in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a College Diploma or University Degree in electronics or related field is preferred
  • 12 years relevant experience required
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or Businessrelated field is preferred
  • APICS Certification is an asset
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge an asset
  • Experience with IPC Standards
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong communication skills, ability to address things quickly and efficiently with a sense of urgency and escalation
  • Experience in MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) tools
  • Familiarity with Syspro a plus
  • English language fluency (written, spoken and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole and production components, drawings and BOMs
  • Strong math and problemsolving skills; familiar with IPC standards
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control; manufacturing experience
  • Perform other tasks as required
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs

POSITION LOCATION

  • Theposition is based in Markham, Ontario in two (2) facilities near by each other, Building A and Building B

HOURS OF WORK & OTHER EXPECTATIONS

  • This position's normal hours of work is from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Flex scheduling may be required for those situations, and additional time worked will occur mostly during month end activities.
  • The position is 100% onsite with no remote work available due to the critical nature of the job and function.
