WaveSuite Analytics Tester Co-Op/Intern

Flexible (Hybrid in Ottawa, Canada or virtual in Canada)


What you will learn and contribute to


You will be part of a team of highly motivated and talented software engineers, delivering new software capabilities to the WaveSuite product suite.

Our team truly cares and has a passion to win.

You'll work with leading edge technology, using software test best practices, automation and simulation, producing software releases for external customers.


As part of our team, you will:

As part of the team, you will:

  • Evaluate an end-to-end system that integrates a GUI with third-party software with custom made APIs with back-end software that interacts with the optical networking equipment
  • Design and implement manual and/or automated tests to iteratively validate functionality, scalability and stability of WaveSuite proposed solution, using judgment to strategically balance quality, schedule and cost
  • Act as a customer advocate to identify, characterize, trouble shoot and evaluate fixes for defects or enhancements to ensure an exceptional customer experience

Your skills and experience

Education Recommendations

You have:

  • A passion for delivering quality software, with solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Some exposure to networking concepts, Linux and REST APIs
  • An ability to visualize business requirements in terms of workflows, use cases and an overall user experience

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with Python or another scripting/programming language
  • Exposure to tools such as Git, Jenkins, Postman, and the Agile Development Methodology
