IT System Administrator


Conpute is one of the leading Managed Service and Cloud Provider in the Durham region, and we are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to work based out of the Oshawa location of a large multi-site customer.

In this exciting opportunity your duties and responsibilities will include, supporting the daily functions and operations of our computer systems - including all networks and other associated peripherals as required.

This is a great opportunity to expand your IT skills and get hands on with a wide variety of fun technologies.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide onsite support to resolve hardware and software problems for end user.
  • Assist in the implementation of new hardware and software.
  • Maintenance of onsite computers, imaging and inventory.
  • Communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions.
  • Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties.
  • Creating technical documentation and adding to our internal knowledge base.
  • Available to be oncall on a rotational basis for after hour's support, which includes occasional evenings and weekends.

SKILLS:


  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Experience with printer maintenance, troubleshooting and installation
  • Experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and Internet troubleshooting
  • Knowledge Active Directory support and administration
  • Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 and 201
  • Experience with IT support ticketing systems and a good understanding of ITIL standards
  • Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with vendor support to ensure their support issues are resolved
  • To be proactive in suggesting and proposing new technologies to support the businesses
  • Travel to other sites on occasion to deploy new equipment
  • Recognizing and escalating more difficult problems to L2 team
  • Use, update and contribute content to our internal knowledge base

EXPERIENCE:


  • Computer diploma or degree or similar experience
  • 12 year experience in IT service desk
  • New graduates welcome
  • Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA would be considered asset

SHIFT INFORMATION:

Monday to Friday office role (with travel to other sites / facilities as required, and work projects / commitment outside of normal working hours)

Salary:
$45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
