RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receive, schedule, file and coordinate all booking requests for designated Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiopulmonary / EEG procedures
  • Communicate professionally and effectively to all patients, physicians, offices and other clerical support areas the date and time of the appointment as well as the patient preparation
  • Prepare utilization statistics, schedules when necessary
  • Act as communication liaison between patients, nursing staff, service departments and the DI Cardio department teams
  • Take direction from the Patient Scheduling Team Leader and liaise with Senior Technologists, key physicians and Directors of DI and cardiopulmonary
  • Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation and respect

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Grade 12 education combined with related hospital experience and/or a Ward/Unit Clerk Certificate from a community college
  • Accurate keyboarding with a minimum of 50 wpm is essential
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Meditech
  • Medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under mínimal supervision, individually and as a member of a team and be customer focused
  • Ability to cope effectively with multiple demands and stressful work environment

PREFERRED:


  • Previous DI Patient Scheduling experience
