Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machine (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and other specialized CNC and manual machines).

This is an onsite position based at our Winnipeg, MB plant.

Primary Responsibilities:

Interprets blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
Set up and run conventional and HAAS CNC machines to produce parts with exacting requirements.
Select and setup cutting tools.
Performs machining setups and makes adjustments as required.
Detect machining abnormalities and/or malfunctions based on tooling wear and damage.
Review machining programs and data package for completeness as required.
Perform quality inspection of parts using standard measuring instruments.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
Support Continuous Improvement efforts and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Needed**:

Typically requires a HS Diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS Diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

35 years of machine shop experience preferred.
Red Seal preferred.
Manual lathe and milling experience preferred.
FeatureCAM Programming experience
Ability to fabricate various parts, fixtures, and jigs using machining equipment: lathe, mill, etc.
