Senior IT Security Analyst

Hybrid work schedule - this position can be located in any of our offices across Canada

Join our team as a senior IT security analyst and play a crucial role in protecting our organization and clients against IT security threats. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead efforts to address and reduce information security risks within Norton Rose Fulbright Canada, ensuring our staff are well-equipped to handle cyber risks effectively in their daily operations. Your expertise will maintain a secure IT environment, allowing us to offer top-notch service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Advocate for information security best practices and policies in Canada, internally within the IT department and among staff;
Stay updated on the latest IT security best practices;
Support the firm's IT department in maintaining a strong security posture across all IT aspects;
Collaborate with the global IT security team to identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities in the Canada region;
Aid the global IT security team in enhancing and managing the firm-wide security infrastructure, configurations, and procedures;
Assist product owners in ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability;
Participate in investigations of suspicious activities and maintain communication with senior management;
Contribute to vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits;
Develop security content and conduct regular security awareness training for all employees;
Ensure 100% compliance with cyber training for all users;
Collaborate with all business functions, create process documents, and provide training;
Coach internal IT staff on security best practices and contribute to solution designs for a top-tier organization;
Identify gaps in asset management related to security applications;
Ensure new projects adhere to information security policies;
Create and maintain IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans;
Monitor security systems to address priority vulnerabilities;
Adhere to IT procedures and protocols for optimal service delivery;
Document security procedures and guidelines for IT and users;
Be available for after-hours work.

Requirements:

Education: College diploma or university degree in computer science, with 10 years of experience, including 4 years as an IT Security Analyst;
Certifications: AZ-900 (mandatory), GIAC Security Essentials, GIAC Security Leadership, (ISC)2 SCCP, (ISC)2 CISSP, (ISC)2 ISSAP, AZ-500 (asset), Comptia Security Plus (asset), ITIL (Completed or in progress);
Experience in Multi-Location IT Security;
Proficiency in Vulnerability Management tools like Qualys and BitSight;
Expertise in Compliance with IT security best practices, including ISO27001 and ASD Essential Eight;
Key Skills: Effective communication, facilitation, and coordination abilities, adept at handling high-pressure environments;
Language Skills: Proficiency in English, French language skills are an asset.
