What is the Role


The Human Resources Coordinator will work in a collaborative environment and supports the entire employee life cycle and day-to-day operations including but not limited to; HRMS (Criterion) database maintenance, management and reporting; recruitment administration and contract support; employee experience events; as well as participating in the planning and implementation of our HR strategy, our programs, and services.


What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of Human Resources policies, guidelines, procedures and processes which provide effective, consistent and timely delivery of services to all employees.
  • Assist with administering benefit programs including new enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Assist in processing pay actions for employees, ensuring attention to detail and adhering to strict timelines.
  • Responsible for the inputting and accuracy of HRMS data and producing reports as required.
  • Maintain paper and electronic personnel files, including setting up files for new employees.
  • Oversee the automated employee attendance and leave management systems and provide support to staff as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with collective agreements and Human Resources policies and procedures to effectively respond to inquiries from staff and redirect inquiries as appropriate.
  • Assist with recruitment process including developing job descriptions, job postings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, drafting offer letters and tracking recruitment statistics.
  • Responsible for the orientation process including communications with new employees and leaders, organizing orientation packages, maintaining accurate information and meeting with new employees on their first day to provide orientation information.
  • Support delivery of Human Resources training and development programs including communications, booking meeting space and preparing materials.
  • Participate in special projects as required, including research, preparation of documents for review and implementation of recommendations.
  • Regularly audit intranet site, personnel files, and electronic filing system ensuring accurate information.
  • Provide overall administrative support to the Human Resources unit and various committees as assigned.

What You Will Bring

  • A degree or diploma with a primary focus in human resources, combined with 12 years of HR or general business experience. Experience with HRMS systems is a definite asset.
  • Foundational understanding of HR principles, practices and applicable legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative approach.
  • Demonstrated high work standards related to accuracy, completeness and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to input data accurately and quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing demands.
  • Resourcefulness in handling new situations and problems.
  • Mature judgement.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
