- Delivers project management, program management, portfolio management and consultant services.
- Develops and maintains project and process direction.
- Ensures the project adheres to its contracted timelines and budget.
- Identifies, manages, communicates, and remediates related risks.
- Engage clients and scope their projects or programs. You may deliver a portfolio of projects for a single client.
- Initiate projects with well documented Charters.
- Lead investigations and team conversations to deliver detailed project schedules, and project plans covering all the knowledge areas.
- Coordinate resource engagement activities, as well as the collecting and sharing of information.
- Set and manage stakeholder expectations, both internally and externally.
- Prepare a budget based on project scope. Develop and report on project spend as well as forecasted budget at completion.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports, as requested, or required.
- Monitor, control and report on the project(s) performance with clients and with the Capstone PMI.
- Ensure overall project management and key project milestones/deliverables are met to the client's satisfaction.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers, offering support in project planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
- Anticipate and take action to avoid and/or reduce potential conflict within the project teams or between stakeholders, ensuring smooth project progress
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project objectives.
- A post-secondary education in Business or a related field.
- At least 7 years of proven experience in managing projects of varying size and complexity over differing industries.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a must.
- Expert knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices.
- Experience developing project strategies, establishing governance, program planning, scheduling and critical path management.
- MS Project intermediate or higher skill level.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in using popular project management tools such as Asana, Trello, Kanban boards, etc.
- Experience managing large projects, technical implementations and other architecting complex project structures preferred.
