As an Amenity Attendant, you will use your strong interpersonal and decision making skills to ensure citizens enjoy the outdoor water facilities at our recreational centers in a safe manner.
With a focus on the City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:
- Greet patrons in a friendly and respectful way
- Ensure appropriate behavior and use of all equipment, such as slides and diving boards
- Ensure the safety of all patrons using facility amenities
- Ensure patrons are obeying rules and general facility guidelines, including COVID19 protocols
- Assist lifeguards in crowd control and marking arms
- Assist lifeguards with opening and closing of the amenities
- Control the movement of patrons in and out of the pavilions/dressing rooms
- Clean touch points as required
- Maintain statistics and administrative tasks including timesheets
- Act as a customer service representative on site
- Assist staff in emergency response as directed
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 14 years of age; 15 years and older may be required depending on the facility
- Experience working in a swimming pool environment and/or in a customer service role serving the public is an asset
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle difficult situations
- Ability to confidently swim a 25 meter pool length
- Ability to perform the sustained and repetitive tasks related to the role, such as being upright for long periods of time, while outside and in various weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide direction to facility users; ability to communicate in a second language is an asset
- Valid Intermediate First Aid is required prior to employment
- Hire is dependent on Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Up to 8 hour shifts per day, up 39 hours per week. Evening and weekend work is required.
