    Description

    Business Infusions is a leading Veterinary Practice Management Software Company that delivers best-in-class equine health software technology solutions to equine veterinarians, trainers and racing authorities globally. Our flagship software, HVMS, is the leading equine practice management software in North America, United Kingdom, Middle East, and Australia for mid-to-large size practices. Our ancillary software solution, Cassadol, has been a leading offering for smaller practices since 2020.

    We are in the process of expanding our core Development team and are actively seeking developers with over 5 years of comprehensive experience in backend and/or frontend development. The ideal candidate will have a skillset that complements our existing technology stack. In particular, we are seeking candidates who have expertise in any combination of the following technologies:

    • Frontend: React, TypeScript
    • BackEnd: C#, GraphQL
    • Database Management Systems: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Elasticsearch
    • AWS & DevOps: ApolloSync, AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS

    Beyond the development of innovative features and the enhancement of existing ones, the selected individual will play a pivotal role in leading, mentoring, and nurturing a skilled team of developers. This responsibility includes promoting a culture of collaboration, advocating for best practices, and spearheading efforts to achieve unparalleled excellence in software development.

    This opportunity is ideally suited for individuals eager to enhance their foundational skills, engage with the latest technology within a SaaS environment, and contribute to the development and utilization of cutting-edge artificial intelligence features and tools.

    This is a Calgary, Alberta based role that will require occasional travel a few times per year.

    Salary: $120,000+ CAD per year

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Contribute to the development of innovative features and software solutions that meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
    • Adhere to best practices and standards for coding.
    • Provide technical leadership and expertise, offering support to developers in navigating complex problem-solving scenarios and making critical architectural decisions.
    • Engage in active collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product owners, to meticulously plan and define comprehensive user stories, ensuring they are in alignment with overarching project objectives.
    • Lead and contribute to the delivery of software projects utilizing the SCRUM methodology, with a strict adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary guidelines.
    • Effectively communicate project progress to stakeholders, proactively identifying potential risks and devising strategies to mitigate them.
    • Conduct thorough post-project evaluations to pinpoint areas for improvement and spearhead the implementation of corrective measures as necessary.
    • Oversee and enhance quality assurance processes, aiming to achieve software excellence and maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Fulfill additional responsibilities as necessitated by the role.

    CORE REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

    • Proficiency in any combination of the following technologies:
    • Frontend: React, TypeScript
    • Backend Technologies: C#, GraphQL
    • Database Management Systems: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Elasticsearch
    • AWS & DevOps: ApolloSync, AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS
    • Proven ability to generate novel ideas, and implement innovative software solutions.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record collaborating with teams from diverse backgrounds across different time zones.
    • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Self-driven and proactive mindset, and the ability to jump into ambiguous situations without being prompted.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, willing to investigate any issue related to the software.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years experience in backend and/or frontend development in some or all of the technologies specified above.
    • Knowledge in Scrum / Agile processes
