Description

The
Production Prep cook is responsible for preparing high volumes of different food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards for a variety of customers.

Responsibilities_

  • High volume preparation of ingredients according to schedule to be ready for assembly to use.
  • Maintaining quality of prepared ingredients according to recipes and callouts
  • Ensure food safety program and production documentation is completed accurately and diligently.
  • Ensures food preparation and storage areas are clean, organized, and arranged for easy FIFO ingredient usage.
  • Proper labeling procedures to be followed.
  • Reporting any ingredients, packaging, and chemicals that are about to run out.
  • Reporting needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Assists in ordering and receiving of food and supplies as required.
  • Attends inservice and safety meetings.
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Work will be performed in ambient, refrigerated, and freezer areas.

Probationary Period: 3-months

  • Work Location: 75 Horner Ave Unit #5, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 4X
  • Shift Requirement: Must be flexible to work mornings and afternoons, including weekends.

Qualifications_

  • 2 years of experience in High Volume Food Production environment preferred.
  • Has worked with produce previously and understands food quality.
  • Strong culinary background
  • Understanding of largescale production and assembly
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lb.
  • Understanding of HACCP and basic food safety standards
  • Fluent English (written & verbal)
