ABOUT THE ROLE


The
Project Coordinator is a full-time contract position that works with a team to design and create a Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) training program to building the knowledge and skills of non-MHA providers that serve Black children, youth and families within Scarborough community organizations.

By employing an anti-racism and equity lens, the goal will be to strengthen providers' ability to detect MHA challenges, provide early intervention, and facilitate client access to more specialized MHA programs and services, as required.


The Project Coordinator will work closely with the project implementation team and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes, advise on identified risks to successful implementation and develop mitigation strategies.

The position will be responsible for developing a project plan, timeline, success criteria and communication plan for the project.

The Project Coordinator will facilitate and support the completion of all project deliverables assigned by Ontario Health, the successful delivery of the training roll-out and the evaluation and reporting of the project's impact.

This role will play an integral part in the implementation of an MHA upskilling program that will address MHA needs of Black children/youth in non-MHA community settings.


The MHA Training Program is a joint initiative between the Scarborough Ontario Health Team (SOHT), Canadian Mental Health Association - Toronto Branch, Strides Toronto, TAIBU Community Health Centre, Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA), Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC), and other partner organizations.

The program is being funded by Ontario Health Toronto.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Facilitate all planning and assist with project definition, outlining and scheduling of work required to achieve project objectives, execute and/ or enable project tasks, monitor and report on progress. Plan and monitor project development, implementation and evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to and prepare project charters, action plans, schedules, Gantt charts etc. to support implementation and evaluation activities of multiple, complex projects.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data for planning (e.g., needs assessment, gap analysis, etc.), performance management, priority setting, and identifying opportunities.
  • Maintain project timelines and track deliverables, including the completion of project deliverables assigned by Ontario Health.
  • Enable and support committees, task forces, or work groups to undertake and achieve projects aligned to funder requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Chair/ Lead of the committee for all activities, schedules, materials, and communications.
  • Contribute leadership to the work of the committee, task force, or work group as needed, formally as Co-Chair, or informally through sharing of facts, information, analysis, opportunities, facilitation of routines, problem solving and relationship building.
  • Ensure project activities are supported by research, data and best practices for infant, child, and youth mental health services.
  • Assess mental health and addiction educational needs across partnering organizations to inform and develop a project plan for the MHA upskilling training program.
  • Ensure that the project implementation team members and leads are effectively supported in the daytoday operations and activities.

THE "MUST HAVES"
The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, Adult Education or other relevant area.
  • Minimum three years of project coordination experience.
  • Experience in large initiative project coordination and management.
  • Experience working in notforprofit sector preferably with a strong interest in mental health and addictions.
  • Experience in developing project plans using an equity, diversity, inclusion and antiracism approach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in planning methods, tools, and project management.
  • Knowledge of youth and stakeholder engagement strategies and approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members and to achieve tea
