Beamish Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Asphalt Foreperson reporting to their office in Elliot Lake, ON.

The Foreperson will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time permanent position available with competitive wages, incentives, and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide supervision and direction to the crew in order to meet quality and production standards.
Coordinate equipment, material, labour, and trucking with the Superintendents and Construction Manager.
Review contract drawings and plans to ensure specifications are followed.
Review and adhere to project schedules.
Complete daily supervisor diary and timesheet.
Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
Delegate tasks and assignments to the crew.
Coordinate with asphalt plant personnel regarding logistics.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid G license.
AZ/DZ is an asset.
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years experience in the civil construction field with asphalt paving experience.
Experience in a management position is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to coordinate asphalt placement to adhere to project design specifications.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and scopes of work.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, and Human Resources policies.
Knowledge of asphalt placement processes both by hand and machine.
Ability to manage crew size of 5 people or more.
Ability to mentor new employees and create a positive environment for developmental growth.
