**Maintenance Supervisor, Building Operations

We are looking for a supervisor that is responsible for the general maintenance, servicing, and repair operations to maintain the residence, furnishing, equipment, fixtures, and the surround grounds in proper condition.

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.


The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Plans and implements daily, weekly, monthly, and annual schedule for preventative maintenance activities to ensure proper functioning of equipment and building infrastructure
  • Maintains the appearance of upkeep of the residence by implementing regular painting and ensuring that all furniture and fixtures are in good working order
  • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, building and equipment repair to ensure optimum functioning
  • Assist with basic furniture assembly
  • Supervise staff as required
  • Ensures all suites are in good repair and proper order, ready for occupancy
  • Conduct and/or participate in fire and emergency preparedness drills and assume the Fire Marshall role for the building
  • Maintains confidentiality of all personal health and confidential information (guests, staff, other)
  • Supervise external contract workers or trades and act as onsite point of contact
  • May from time to time provide coverage for staff vacation performs other related duties as required
  • Experience as a maintenance worker ideally in the hotel environment and or accommodation setting
  • Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of building mechanical room
  • Certificate from a program in general building maintenance considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of fire equipment
  • Outstanding leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to perform physical duties which may include bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting, and carrying boxes, tools, and equipment
  • Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations, to be on call and carry a cell phone and able to work hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the Residence Corporation
  • Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Products would be an asset
  • Familiarity with inventory management, order placement, and procurement policies

Job Type:
Full Time, Permanent (75 hours bi-weekly)


Salary Range:
$ per hour


Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm with on call requirements for critical & emergency issues. Position can support on site accommodations if required.
