Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Manager, Product Launch & Quality Assurance to join our team.
You will lead the Quality Assurance and new new product launch activities for TTC's new vehicles and systems including buses, Streetcars, and subways and associated systems.
What You Will Do
- You will be reporting to the Director
- Engineering Services and be responsible for the introduction of new systems and vehicles to the TTC and the quality assurance program related to new vehicles and infrastructure within the Innovation and Sustainability Group (ISG).
- You will develop and implement strategies, plans and procedures for the QA management function for new vehicles and infrastructure, which includes systematic oversight and audits to support development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of QA.
- You will develop and implement QA objectives and monitor and report regularly on QA objectives against defined performance indicators.
- You will also work closely with Vehicle Programs and Renewable Energy Programs to support and tailor the quality management approach to program/project requirements.
- You will prepare written reports on inspection visits for review and discussion with the Director
- Engineering Services, the main contractor and their vendors.
- You will oversee and conduct compliance reviews of internal controls and procedures in all areas of vehicle procurement and maintenance protocols.
- You will ensure quality assurance on new vehicles and equipment on TTC property prior to commissioning, or covered under OEM/Vendor's warranty repair period, and adhere to all safety requirements.
- You will be responsible to represent TTC in ISO 9000 audits against the Contractor/Subcontractor/Vendor.
- In addition, you will develop and implement QA documentation, tools and resources.
- You will also manage data provided by the onsite Quality Assurance Representatives in order to prioritize the corrective actions and avoid delays on Preliminary and Final Acceptance of the equipment.
- You will lead the development and execution of overall project plans to ensure the timely, costefficient and successful completion of vehicle and systems introduction.
- You will oversee the coordination of interdepartmental and external contractor efforts concerning vehicle, infrastructure, maintenance and operations throughout all phases of revenue vehicle and equipment acquisition projects from the initial development stage through the manufacture, delivery, testing and startup activities to actual operations. This includes overseeing and coordinating First Article Inspections including participation.
- You will review, map, and verify the relevant policies, processes, procedures, and practices for maintainability, identify gaps and work with stakeholders to develop improvement plans and arrangements for continuous improvement.
- You will review OEM documentations throughout the procurement to ensure tools and test equipment are procured and meet the maintenance departments' needs.
- You will oversee the collaboration and engagement of key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, secure resources, and overcome obstacles to ensure of projects within scope, schedule and cost.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Your education will consist of a completed university degree in engineering or a related discipline, plus several years of directly related experience in quality management and product introduction or product launch; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
