WATER METER READER
Permanent Full-Time Position
The District of Saanich is seeking a Water Meter Reader to perform water meter reading and consumption recording within the Municipality.
This position performs regular reading of water meters; inspects meters and meter boxes; interacts with the public; and investigates and reports unusually high or low consumption and any conditions in water installations which may cause loss of revenue to the Municipality or complaints by the consumer.
Requirements include:
Grade 11 or equivalent; three months experience in reading utility meters including experience in dealing with the public; a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence; and must have sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of work in all types of weather.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $31.22 per hour plus an excellent benefits package .
