Responsibilities:


  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the trucking and freight industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for business growth.
  • Negotiate and close deals with carriers and shippers to maximize profitability and meet company objectives.
  • Utilize CRM systems and tools to track and manage sales activities, leads, and customer interactions.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and opportunities to the management team.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations, market conditions, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset, but not required.
  • Proven track record of success in business development within the trucking or freight brokerage industry minimum of 3 years required.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have some existing relationships with shippers that can be converted.
  • Resultsoriented with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience with cold calling.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
