Reporting to one of the Senior Managers, and working as a member of the payroll team, this role is responsible for the efficient administration of various functions assigned and the related day-to-day payroll team requirements.

In addition, this role offers the opportunity to be a critical team member by providing key support where needed, You should be highly motivated, analytical, logical thinker and have a very strong attention to detail.

Being a strong team player is critical with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines in support of our clients' goals.


The opportunity


As a Payroll Administrator, you will be a part of our Accounting, Compliance, and Reporting practice: Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) group.

As a member of E&Y's Accounting, Compliance, and Reporting practice, you will develop the combination of deep payroll and administrative knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of business drivers to serve your clients to the best of your ability.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Payroll Administrator:
  • Provide timely and highquality services and work products that exceed client expectations
  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products and responding to queries from clients and internal stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Support the collection of client data as per agreed payroll calendar, prepare payrolls using client data, and provide scheduling assistance to payroll team for ongoing and year end activities, and
  • Ensure the payroll processes/procedure documentation is relevant, uptodate and is used at all times
  • Take ownership of tasks & projects with the has ability to make decisions and while having a strong ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide payroll services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches and process improvement opportunities

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 35 years of relevant administrative experience in a professional setting
  • Experience in payroll processing or administration is preferred and would be considered a strong asset
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Interest in payroll processing
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • A Selfmotivated and driven attitude
  • Enjoy working as part of a closely knit team
  • French as a second language would be beneficial but not mandatory
  • Comfortable asking questions to ensure understanding
  • Ideally, you'll also have
  • Maturity, proactive attitude, commitment, and be a highly motivated and driven team player
