Summary


The Maintenance Manager provides supervision to the maintenance team and organizes and oversees all daily, short term and long term operations of the maintenance department.

This includes and is not limited to all routine maintenance, campus improvements, and solving day to day operational issues.

The Maintenance Manager shall have overall knowledge of most building aspects and will have a keen attention to detail, quality of workmanship and materials utilized to deliver optimal maintenance services.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hiring, training and staffing the maintenance department;
  • Supervising the Maintenance staff including both timely and respectful feedback and annual reviews;
  • Making recommendations to the Chief Executive Director for the hiring of seasonal crew of summer employees to help support the needs of the site;
  • Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative and regular maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment and grounds. Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies. Makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to management;
  • Responsible for the overall safety of the Maintenance department, including being an active member of Cedars Health and Safety Committee and establishing and sustaining safe operating procedures;
  • Support staffing needs during times of staff shortage and being available to be on call items related to emergency response or inclement weather emergency response;
  • Ensure all proactive facilities needs are taken care of, season specific (gutters, carpet cleaning, tree trimming. etc);
  • Develop a visible weekly, monthly and seasonal work flow for ground maintenance;
  • Collects and removes garbage and recyclable materials and ensures the safe disposal of hazardous waste;
  • Cleans external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots using manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse;
  • Performs gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning and watering;
  • Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and incident reports;
  • Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies;
  • Attend staff training sessions and meetings as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership or management teams

Conditions of Employment

  • Will conduct themselves according to the _Employee Code of Conduct _including maintaining professional boundaries at all times
