FULL-TIME SERVICE GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER
POSITION - METRO TRUCK GROUP, MILTON LOCATION


As our trusted brand continues to evolve, the General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to building maintenance, cleaning, outdoor work, and minor plumbing and electrical repairs.

The General Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, identifying and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, and hardware replacements
  • Respond to maintenance requests from various departments and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Perform regular cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust and wipe surfaces; empty trash and recycling bins as required
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots, walkways, and landscaping
  • Clear snow, ice, and debris from walkways and parking lots during inclement weather
  • Conduct minor plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, and unclogging drains.
  • Assist with the installation and repair of electrical fixtures, outlets, and switches.
  • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, and other lighting components as necessary
  • Perform work with safety as a priority and abiding by all safety policies and standards set out by the Metro Truck Group of Companies
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as set out by the Metro Truck Group of companies
  • Uphold strong communication, organization and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with customers and all levels of staff

Education & Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in general maintenance work, including building maintenance, cleaning, and basic plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
  • Refined time management skills, ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the General Maintenance Worker is required to stand; walk; bend; lift heavy objects; work at heights when required.
