We are excited to bring a Government Affairs Advisor onto the team We are looking for an individual to develop and implement engagement and public affairs strategies to support current and future business growth in the province.
What you will do
- Lead Enbridge's engagement efforts with elected and nonelected government partners and other key trade associations and multistakeholder organizations in British Columbia and the Territorial governments.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and monitor policy and regulatory agendas that may be impactful to the business.
- Share your expertise in the development of company public policy positions and corresponding advocacy plans.
- Work collaboratively with team members across the organization to align messaging and public positions.
- Provide guidance and advice on using work with trade associations and other third parties to advance business interests in British Columbia
- Play a key role in the development of strategies to improve the companies' reputation in British Columbia
- Develop briefing materials, position papers, and messaging on key government and regulatory initiatives programs/policies/announcements to share with colleagues and brief business units on potential business impacts.
- Manage regulatory responsibilities associated with regional lobbyist registries

- A University degree in political science, business, communications, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible public affairs/government relations experience in a corporation, agency or government.
- Understanding of public policy, coalitionbuilding, strategic thinking, and project execution
- Working knowledge of the energy industry
- Dedication to continuous learning and skill upgrading
- Demonstrated capability in developing and completing strategic public affairs/government relations plans
- Demonstrated capability in building and using strong internal and external networks
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once, under constant time constraint pressure.
- Strong writer who is also comfortable and experienced with presentation programs

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Grasping, kneeling, light
- moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
