Description
The Corix team has an opportunity for a
Payroll and Benefits Administrator.

This role focuses on processing and administering full-cycle US and Canadian semi-monthly and/or weekly payroll cycles for assigned business units accurately and timely.

It also involves managing employee benefit plans, including provincial health, Extended Health and Dental, and Group RRSP.


Compensation
$60,000-$75,000

What You'll Do

Major Accountabilities

  • Process and administer fullcycle multiprovincial semimonthly and/or weekly payroll cycles for assigned business units.
  • Perform manual data entry and maintenance of the payroll system, including new hires, employee updates, and terminations.
  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees, various external agencies, and departments within the company.
  • Enroll, update, and terminate benefits both on the payroll system and with benefit carriers accurately and timely, tracking and monitoring all related documentation.

General Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and balance time and payroll data for hourly and salaried employees in various business units, adding and updating employee records and entitlements in the payroll system as required.
  • Enter banking information, additional and recurring payments and deductions, and any necessary adjustments into the payroll system for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Perform final payment calculation and manual cheque preparation, and issue ROE.
  • Process changes to benefits coverage, including new enrollments, coverage changes, and terminations, both on the payroll system and with benefit carriers accurately and timely, tracking and filing all related documentation.
  • Ensure benefit deductions and taxable benefits are set up accurately in the payroll system, and correspond with benefit carrier information.
  • Review and process monthly billing invoices for any adjustments, including dependent additions/deletions, and optional insurance changes.
  • Respond to payroll and benefit inquiries from employees, various external agencies, and departments within the company.
  • Assist with monthend payroll account reconciliations for a number of payroll general ledger accounts.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What you bring

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Certified as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner.
  • 2 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Profound knowledge of fullcycle payroll processing and benefits administration across multiple provinces.
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to respond effectively to payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems, with the ability to perform accurate data entry and maintenance.
  • Skilled in managing and tracking documentation related to payroll and benefits administration.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a normal office setting, adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy in highpressure situations.
