    Description

    We are looking for a Civil Designer for a client in Winnipeg who is involved in constructing multifamily complexes and commercial projects in various provinces including Manitoba, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Ontario. The selected individual will be tasked with overseeing the Civil design and coordination of groundwork for multifamily developments such as townhouses, apartments, hotels, and other commercial ventures.

    Responsibilities:
    • Design and coordinate Civil elements for large residential construction projects
    • Review and value engineering of Civil Engineering drawings, including grading and servicing plans
    • Collaborate with the design team to determine appropriate foundation and pile types
    • Coordinate with the Civil Consultant on groundwork encompassing site services, electrical, water, etc.
    • Create designs for site retaining walls and coordinate with the Architectural Designer
    • Assist the Utility Coordinator with utility applications
    • Participate in material takeoffs for estimation, budgeting, and procurement
    • Attend internal and external project meetings to support the architectural coordinator
    • Aid in resolving construction conflicts by offering design and coordination support
    Requirements:
    • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Experience in Civil design for residential and commercial construction projects (residential experience preferred)
    • Knowledge of large concrete foundations, including parkades and/or podiums
    • Understanding of soil and site conditions, including steep slopes and poor soil conditions
    • Familiarity with various pile types and their functions
    • Proficiency in using Revit Software
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong project prioritization and deadline management skills
    • Advantageous to be associated with ASTTBC or APEG
    • Must have a reliable vehicle
