Contract role for 2-3 months with a possibility of extension.


Position Overview:


Analysts are an integral part of the finance team with direct support to various operational divisions and will report to the Manager, Analytics.

The roles are responsible for predicting future costs of operations based on the Flair flight schedules, the vendor agreements and price lists and the actual data accumulated and then ensuring all charges are validated.

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the fuel vertical assigned to them including liaison with partners inside and outside of Flair to develop accurate reporting and audit support.


For clarity, the Analyst will be responsible for reviewing all contracts, creating a relationship with the vendors and departments inside Flair, developing robust analytic tools (excel), be able to properly compose raw data from outside programs, reconcile quantity and pricing and offer inciteful advise and analytics for departmental leaders.

The
Financial Analyst will be responsible for the fuel vertical
and will be accountable for the following duties:

Job Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for various period analytics and reporting.
  • Perform daily monitoring and accounting for the vertical ensuring accordance with the company's policy and current accounting standards.
  • Provide reliable reporting of the verticals KPI's.
  • Ensure that outside data collection systems that tie to the financial systems are properly tested and compliant with accounting and reporting needs.
  • Prepare backup schedules that reconcile to assigned accounts (vendors, revenues as applicable).
  • Continuously review and streamline processes to ensure tasks are executed efficiently.
  • Identify and implement internal controls and process improvements.
  • Assist with financial audits including reconciliations, support documentation, and communication with external auditors.
  • Support the Safety Management System (SMS) program through participation and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned by the organization from time to time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- **Education**:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or in a related area
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or actively working towards the CPA designation will benefit the incumbent in performing duties but is not a requirement.

- **Experience**:
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting or analytics experience within a medium
  • large organization, including a minimum of three (3) years demonstrating analytical, problem solving and decision
  • making skills in managing moderate to complex analysis of operations
  • Previous airline experience would be considered an asset.

  • Technological proficiency including proven use of multiple software programs is a requirement.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

- **Requirements**:
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references
  • Ability to successfully complete a preemployment alcohol and drug screening test _(only when applicable)_
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) _(only when applicable)_
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
