We are recruiting for a
Manager, Self Help & Peer Support Services

_ This is a regular full-time opportunity (minimum of 35 hours per week) based at 67 King St. E. in Kitchener with travel to other CMHA WW sites as needed._
The Manager, Self Help & Peer Support Services reports to the Director of Services and is responsible for day-to-day operations and the supervision of Self Help & Peer Support Services, Skills for Safer Living, and Centre for Excellence in Peer Support


Specific functions include:

mentoring, debriefing and leading staff/volunteers to deliver and develop peer support and lived-experience driven support groups and programs, facilitate the integration of peer support practices and roles throughout the agency and monitor and balance multiple program budgets in alignment with service targets and program needs.


Qualifications:

  • Personal lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges and recovery and of accessing mental health services and supports.
  • Master's degree in Health or Social Science field and current registration with legislated regulatory body preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in mental health/addiction peer support services within a healthcare/social service environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience within the nonprofit and/or public sector with the ability to supervise others, identify and address performance and disciplinary matters in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Extensive knowledge of peer support best practices and the needs of peer support staff and volunteers; and of mental health and substance use, suicide prevention/intervention, and selfmanagement approaches to improving wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of adult education, group development and facilitation, and virtual and inperson group programming.
  • Experience with managing a program budget and monitoring expenditures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of diverse communities and an ability to lead staff with diverse and intersectional lived/living experiences.
  • Experience championing diversity and inclusion initiatives with focus on antioppression and antiracism and antisanism is preferred.
  • Demonstrated belief in the values and philosophy of CMHA WW.
  • Knowledge of risk, privacy and confidentiality of records
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and power point
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation as travel is required

COMPENSATION:
$48.09 TO $58.42 PER HOUR (Non-Union)
