ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Production Manager, we are seeking an experienced Assembler available to work full-time at our Toronto location.

As a steel fabrication Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by assembling steel components and structures according to engineering specifications.

Your attention to detail, technical skills, and commitment to quality will contribute to the production of high-quality steel products.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Checking output to ensure the highest quality.
  • Reporting on issues, malfunction, or defective parts.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing assembly position
  • Dexterity and handeye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Mechanical and technical skills; the ability to use battery operated or corded hand tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing highquality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Flexible to work overtime as required by production schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Stamina and endurance for extended periods of standing and repetitive tasks.
