You are
An
_Electronic Technician_. You are responsible for providing diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to motorized wheelchairs and components and will provide technical advice.

This is a 3-month term position.


Your Role

  • Performing motorized wheelchair diagnostics, maintenance and repairs. Setsup motorized wheelchairs for client delivery.
  • Charging batteries, monitors battery stock and advises Inventory Control Clerk when reordering is required.
  • Repairing motorized wheelchair components.
  • Directing diagnosis of motorized wheelchairs by Production Worker(s).
  • Consulting with Wheelchair Technician(s) regarding diagnosis of motorized wheelchairs.
  • Completing parts inventory control sheet each time parts are removed from parts area.
  • Completing work orders, including all information requested, listing parts used and recording a summary of service work performed, as well as any observation(s) of clients in breech of their wheelchair user agreement.
  • Performing inhouse manual wheelchair repairs, as time permits.
  • Responding to consumer, professional or other inquiries regarding motorized wheelchairs including scheduling inhouse repairs.
  • Cleaning/tidying work area.
  • Maintaining uptodate wheelchair service and parts manuals.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels of parts, tools, equipment and supplies to meet motorized wheelchair program demands.
  • Preparing motorized wheelchair components and batteries for shipping.

What You Know

  • Postsecondary electronic training or experience equivalent.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and experience with computers.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license.
  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in an allied health environment considered an asset.
  • Forklift certificate an asset.
  • Transportation of dangerous goods training an asset.
