SUMMARY:
In this position, you will report to the Afternoon Shift Supervisor.
As the Machine Shop Technician working in the Surface Finishing department, you will be responsible for performing various honing duties in support of production requirements.
Work Site Location:
Oakville, Ontario - Onsite
Work Shift:
Afternoon Shift - Monday - Thursday 4pm - 2am
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform hand hone, polish, vhone and horizontal honework from drawings and general instructions
- Document actions in support of quality logs and communicates all discrepancies in machining to supervision
- Work from setup sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
- Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components as specified
- Work in a safe team oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation & execution of 'LEAN' principles
- Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 13 years of previous Honing experience.
- Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) is preferred.
- Must be willing to multitask as required.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize measuring equipment in support of quality requirements and read and interpret blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Demonstrated ability to read micrometers / Vernier's
- Demonstrated ability to use Matrix and read & interpret latest MPS/APS
- Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime
