Major Duties:


You will not be burdened with tough grammar lessons or put to sleep learning writing techniques - you will be delving deep into the details and technicalities of cutting-edge technologies in the automation and robotics field to provide support to a team of highly skilled professional Technical Authors.


We need your support to develop and deliver Operation and Maintenance manuals by reviewing models, drawings, flow diagrams and schematics, interviewing designers, controls and software engineers to develop base descriptions of complex equipment functionality and features, describe subcomponent interfaces and overall operation dynamics and create step by step disassembly, maintenance and reassembly instructions.


Opportunities and Responsibilities:


  • Opportunity to sharpen critical engineering communication skills verbal and written.
  • Learn complex concepts and combine text with supporting visual elements to present content as discrete units of information (concepts, tasks, and references).
  • Create clear, exploded view illustrations that support written information following ATS standards.
  • Photograph systems and components for recordkeeping and documentation purposes.
  • Complete all business activities with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Strictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Currently enrolled in an engineering / technologist / automation technician field or technical writing program (with technical background)

Must Have:


  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral), and an aptitude for explaining technical information.
  • Ability to maintain clarity, conciseness, consistent style, and consistent terminology in documents.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment.
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement and a 'cando' attitude.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, and AutoCAD drawings and modeling functions.
  • A basic understanding of dynamics of machinery pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.

Nice to have:


  • Coding skills
  • Python, JavaScript, Pearl
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
