Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations, Bethesda is currently recruiting for a Community Relations Coordinator.


Working to promote Bethesda's Mission Vision and Values, the Community Relations Coordinator will develop, implement and execute plans to improve relationships between staff, associated stakeholders, families, the general community and donors to Bethesda.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to the Manager, Community Relations to develop and communicate appropriate Bethesda events internally and external to the organization.
  • Ensure appropriate internal materials and communications are prepared to support the development and fostering of positive media relations.
  • Appropriately manage and maintain Bethesda's fundraising software and accounts
  • Prepare and finalize various internal and external communications.
  • Ensure all approved internal and external communication methods are strategically implemented and utilized.
  • Prepare, analyze and present various reports regarding the reach and success of various external advertising campaigns; utilize all appropriate sources of data
  • Provide, through research and analytics, reports to the Manager, Community Relations, supporting the use of various advertising and marketing methods to reach specific target audiences for various Bethesda operations.
  • Provide various statistical information related to the tracking and reporting of various Community Relations and fundraising programs success.
  • Provide research internally within the Community Relations Department to support various activities.
  • Participate and implement various Community Relations related operational plans as directed by the Manager, Community Relations.
  • Participate in the creation of a longterm outreach plan designed to increase community knowledge and participation with Bethesda
  • Identify community groups & events Bethesda can increase their presence in
  • Attend various community groups and participate in community events representing Bethesda
  • Ensure the policies and procedures of Bethesda are followed at all times relating to the operation of the Community Relations Department
  • Provide assistance in the development of internal Community Relations plans with specific measurable goals.
  • Support the development of internal Bethesda plans to increase donations to the Bethesda Foundation Inc. (BFI).
  • Support the implementation of approved plans, through various methods, directed at increasing donations to BFI.
  • Provide support in the marketing and advertising of Bethesda as a whole as well as program specific targeting advertising and marketing.
  • Provide support related to the development of appropriate corporate partnerships within the local community and community at large that benefit all Bethesda operations and corporations.
  • Ensure all approved requests for internal Bethesda signage are provided based on approved internal policies and procedures; ensure all legal requirements are met.
  • Ensure appropriate operation of utilized software programs.
  • Complies with Bethesda policies and procedures relating to health and safety.
  • Responsible for reporting all health and safety concerns immediately following the Internal Responsibility System.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary education in Communication or Business Administration
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working in Community Relations or related field.
  • Previous experience in corporate partnerships/grants/fundraising
  • Previous experience within nonprofit or charitable organization.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Professional Communication Skills: professionally represents the company through strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Teamwork: excels at working with others and communicating with a team to provide the most effective support to clients.
  • Problem-Solving: able to navigate challenges and barriers, always looks for potential pitfalls and risks to help mitigate problems ahead of time, and knows when to ask for help.
  • Proactive: anticipates and solves problems and issues before they are brought to your attention.
  • Fluent in French an Asset
