Description

Connex Personnel is currently seeking a Project Manager, Terminals to support the execution of an ongoing project on the Island portion of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The project manager will mainly support the execution and completion of this capital project but may be assigned to other projects at various locations as needed.


Requirements:


  • Past project management experience involving terminal station and transmission work at 66 kV voltage level;
  • Electrical Engineering Degree (preferred) or Electrical Technology Diploma with PM experience (minimum 15 years), as above;
  • Participate in knowledge transfer activities from existing Project Manager;
  • Conduct biweekly WebEx progress update meetings with the customer;
  • Review contractor tender bids for a remaining Electrical/Civil contract and participate in review and award of that contract;
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with contractors for ongoing (Transmission Line) and upcoming (Terminal Station) work;
  • Ensure technical coordination meetings are conducted with the customer to ensure technical compliance, plan outages and shared timelines;
  • Support the customer construction billing process by working with the companies Key Accounts Lead;
  • Execute project work plan and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
  • Set up additional project work orders, as required;
  • Manage daytoday operational aspects of projects and scope of work;
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) through continual improvement and active participation in corporate HSE processes;
  • Initiate and monitor all aspects of the project to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets;
  • Ensure project change notices are properly evaluated, estimated (as required) and authorized;
  • Ensure all approved changes are communicated to the project team and reflected in the active project budget and schedule;
  • Ensure that potential impacts of project changes from cost, schedule, safety and quality/reliability perspectives are identified and communicated to the customer and other stakeholders in a timely manner;
  • Submit weekly timesheets for accrual and invoice backup;
  • Manage project risk register;
  • Identify and respond to issues, implement timely interventions or escalate as required to ensure project outcomes comply with project and customer plans;
  • Ensure that terms of agreements or commitments are understood and fully respected;
  • Ensure that work packages are developed and leveraged by the project team;
  • Determine insurance requirements in consultation with the companies Risk and Insurance Division;
  • Establish the necessary level of site presence during project execution;
  • Manage the commissioning phase of the work;
  • Complete monthly capital reports and accruals;
  • Complete yearend capital reports including variance explanations, as required;
  • Complete project closeout and asset assignment activities;
  • Ensure continual improvement is nurtured through lessons learned sessions, supporting innovative approaches and communication to other project teams;
  • Communicate with Operations on a regular basis; and
  • Participate in Weekly Terminals' Checkpoints with Operations and the Newfoundland and Labrador System Operator.

Special Conditions:
A valid driver's license will be required as there will be some travel involved.
