The Sarnia manufacturing facility is the headquarters for ARLANXEO Canada Inc. with a Global Research & Development Centre for Butyl Rubber found in London, Ontario.

Focused on the production of synthetic rubber, the Sarnia facility is a major supplier to both domestic and international markets and employs over 300 employees.


This role provides planning of all maintenance work and activities to ensure equipment is maintained in the most cost effective manner to support safe, environmentally sound, optimum performance of the Sarnia Site.

The planner will take approved work notifications for the plant and develop complete work plans to include manpower and craft requirements, materials list, requisition materials, and specify any special tools or equipment needs so that the work order is ready to execute.

The Maintenance Planner position has strong ties to Operations, Plant Engineering and Procurement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work Notification and Work Order Process Administration
  • Maintenance Work Order Planning
  • Preventative and Scheduled Maintenance Planning

Education/Experience:

Post-secondary diploma in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering Technology required.
Certification and experience in one or more skilled trade considered an asset
2-5 years experience in maintenance or construction planning, including large scale capital plans and construction projects.
Understanding of the Maintenance Processes, including a demonstrated understanding of task management, timing and work requirements
Must have strong organizational and computer skills (MS Office, Notes, SAP and Scheduling Software).
Prior experience in a maintenance planning/scheduling or supervisory role in a Petrochemical environment.
Demonstrated planning, scheduling and estimating skills conforming to industrial norms and practices.
