The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Attraction & Investment, this role is responsible for delivering the core economic development activities of the Business Attraction & Investment Division.

This includes business support and new investment servicing, research and reporting, and event and project management to support the diversification and growth of the Caledon economy.

As the Economic Development Officer, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

Respond to information requests from the public and provide related followup, including data, coordinating meetings, and providing assistance navigating the nonresidential development approvals process
Respond to new investment inquiries and prepare related site selection response packages and presentations in collaboration with Division staff
Organize familiarization and site visit tours for site selectors, and provincial and federal economic development partners
Research, analyze and report on economic activity and trends to inform Division service delivery and update key performance indicators (KPIs)
Prepare briefing materials, quarterly, and annual reports to Leadership and Council
Maintain competitive benchmarks and propose recommendations for improvements to Division and Town services to promote investment attraction with a focus on enhancing businessfriendliness across the corporation
Liaise with Regional partners to coordinate annual employer surveys
Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.

This position offers a salary range of $75, $93,006.93 plus a competitive benefit package.
