- Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is overseeing the design and early works of the Scarborough Subway Extension project, aiming to extend TTC's Line 2 subway nearly eight kilometers into Scarborough.
- This expansion will enhance transit for commuters heading downtown or within Scarborough itself, replacing Line 3 (the Scarborough RT) to streamline travel times and access to essential locations in the city.
- As part of this project, we are searching for a skilled Traffic Coordinator to join our team.
- The Traffic Coordinator will be crucial in handling traffic control requirements and fulfilling the duties of Traffic Control Coordinator as per project needs.
- This role involves developing and maintaining traffic control plans, overseeing traffic in construction zones, managing lane closures, schedules, labor, client coordination, and more.
- Review Traffic and Transit Management Plans per the Project Agreement; ensure compliance with vehicular and pedestrian concerns during construction.
- Engage with internal construction teams to strategize construction and traffic staging, address roadblocks, and coordinate various plans with design consultants and relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with Traffic Control Sub Contractors for accurate implementation of Traffic Control Plans, including Line Painting monitoring.
- Participate in traffic management and community liaison meetings, update project schedules, and conduct coordination meetings with design and construction teams.
- Post-secondary education/work experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of Engineering software, preferably AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in construction projects, particularly heavy civil, rail, and tunnel projects.
- Valid G driver's license.
- Drive continual improvement in quality standards.
- Ensure subcontractors uphold our values and standards.
