At SMS Equipment, our
Regional Sales Manager is responsible for delivering strategic plans, goals and objectives to the designated region.

The incumbent will be planning and implementation of sales plans and strategies, communication, customer development, sales representative development and management for the sale and support of new and used equipment.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to

:

Sales Activities. Responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day sales activities under close guidance from the territories' Operations Manager, continuously seeking overall territory market share and profitability growth. Engage all sales representatives to ensure alignment of Company objectives and sales strategies, as well as to deliver a total solution to customers

Sales Planning. Identify business opportunities and potential problem areas such as market growth opportunities, market threats, and challenges. Provide proactive recommendations for the market segment based on anticipated developments. Under the direction of and in collaboration with Operations Managers develop and implement sales and marketing plans and strategies. Direct the flow of information for sales activities and transactions and evaluate data to ensure sales goals are met.

Management. Lead, direct and supervise the day-to-day sales activities of the sales representatives. Monitor and manage performance as required. Monitor results, consult with Management at all levels and take corrective actions. Assist in sales presentations and quotations and provides recommendations for change if necessary.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge on theoretical principles and concepts associated with managing a sales team in a geographic and industry diverse environment.
  • Ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Effectively operate in a high energy environment.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to resolve, implement, and enforce safety programs.
  • Management, supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of labour relations and personnel management.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
