Job Summary
What is the Opportunity?
As the Senior Manager, Digital Risk, you will support the Digital & Data Business by ensuring comprehensive risk identification, evaluation, mitigation and monitoring across all risk types for the business unit in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Framework, including:
- risk identification, assessment, and mitigation,
- risk issue resolution, ongoing attestation, and communication.
You will be responsible for supporting the Digital & Data Agile Risk model across product owners, functional risk partners and stakeholders.
You will support the Director, Digital Operations & Risk in understanding and triaging key risks on BAU & Journey initiatives through the new digital risk model.
Furthermore, you will help innovate and find opportunities to build a risk awareness culture across product owners and squads, while underscoring the importance of managing risk while delivering business value.
What will you do?
- Create, support, and monitor a proactive risk identification and control mitigation ecosystem and culture within Digital & Data and in support of Mega Journeys
- Help ensure optimal risk governance and is accountable for development and highquality execution of controls within Digital Business
- Provide awareness, supports direct manager and Digital & Data Business SMT in understanding and escalating key risks
- Provide input and leads initiatives through the Risk Transformation program
- Lead training and support through Digital Risk's Ways of Working model
- Support portfolio planning and finance management across annual journey funding
- Ensure Digital and Business staff understand, document, and escalate digital risks, including those associated with another line of business or RBC entity for the benefit of Canadian Banking or the Enterprise through the appropriate risk assessment (RTA, PARA, IT Risk Triage, Model Validation, etc.
- Actively identifies areas of opportunity to streamline the risk assessment process to enable accelerated delivery cadence without compromising risk posture and governance requirements.
- Partner with First and Second Line of Defence risk partners, including Group Risk Management, Operational Risk, Fraud Management, Law Group, AML Compliance, Global Compliance & Privacy, Global Cyber Security, Financial Controls, Business Continuity Management, RBCI & P&CB.
Here's what we need from you:
Must-Have:
- 57 years strategic experience in a large organization
- 35 years risk experience across 1st or 2nd Line of Defense within a large organization
- University degree in business, finance, or related field
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
- Proven success with relationship management and stakeholdering
- Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders, and demonstrate strong collaboration skills across the organization
- Experience working in digital environments
- Strong problemsolving skills with a resultsoriented and innovative mindset
- Experience leading or shaping large transformational efforts
- Experience deriving insights from disparate data
- Impact and influence ability with executive stakeholders
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal and demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with agile methodology and concepts
- AI experience and/or knowledge
- Canadian or international regulatory compliance background
- Knowledge of Insurance regulation
- MBA
